phoebads
Known species/types of phoebads:
There are two schools of thought on whence arose the phoebad, a soulkin mainly seen in the region around the Lochs of Gyr Abania. One holds that the creature was born of heresy, men transformed into monsters due to their unwillingness to embrace the revelations of Rhalgr. (1)
Others believe that, rather, the phoebad is a natural but unwelcome phenomenon that occurs when sufficient aether gathers into clusters of salt crystals, awakening little else but the urge to purge those around it.
In either case, these soulkin are highly dangerous, and meant to be put down whenever found.

The salt must flow, unless it chooses otherwise. Phoebads linger around the ruins of the old palace, charged with aether and ready to commit murder. Culling is frequently necessary, and Clan Centurio oft issues bounties on their salty hides. (2)(3)
Given the controversy around their origins, it would be counted disrespectful to call them the perfect disciples of the Destroyer.

- The Lochs, Loch Seld
Combat Rating: 69
Special note:
Besides dismissive sweeps of their great hands, phoebads bring to bear Saltstomp--a general slam attack against all who come within range--and Saltstorm, which is not unlike Sandstorm. The latter blinds those in a cone before the phoebad, making it harder to strike against the creature.
